PAYMENT: At Beach Grass Cottage, you have the choice of paying directly on the Shopify site with any credit card, or using PayPal to process your payment.
Either way, your payment is fully secured, and I NEVER see your confidential credit card information. You can use your credit card even if you don't have a PayPal account!!
TAX: 6% tax is charged to orders shipping within Michigan.
RETURNS & REFUNDS: I want you to love your purchase and be 100% satisfied. Please message me within 3 days of receipt to authorize your return. I'll give you a return authorization number and help you with any packaging questions. Returns and damaged goods must be received within 7 days of your receipt. Because many of my products are originals and are not kept in inventory, returns after 7 days cannot be accepted, no exceptions.
Products need to be in resellable condition, in our original protective packaging, and shipped back at buyers expense within 7 days of receipt. Your refund for the item amount will be processed, less our original free shipping costs to you, upon receipt of your items in resellable condition. I do not refund shipping fees on returned goods.
FREE SHIPPING: Since we pay for your free shipping, if you return an item(s) we will deduct the price we paid for shipping to you from your refund.
CLEARANCE ITEMS ENDING IN .98, SUPPLIES and seasonal CHRISTMAS category items are always FINAL SALES, no returns.
DAMAGE: It is imperative that you contact me regarding any damage within 3 days of receipt. SAVE THE OUTER PACKAGING!! I will ask you to photograph the damage itself and the product's outer packaging. Shipping companies require photos of the product itself and the outer/inner packaging during the claims process.
Claims for damages and shortages will not be accepted after 7 days from receipt. PLEASE OPEN AND CHECK ALL ITEMS FOR DAMAGE IMMEDIATELY. This includes large custom mirrors.
A WORD ON SHELL/ SEA GLASS ADHESION:
The shipping process can sometimes dislodge a piece or two of shell or sea glass no matter how much I bubble wrap the item:)!
Small repairs can be made with a "super glue" type product or a household hot glue gun, and are not considered refundable "damage".
OUT OF STOCKS: On occasion an item in your order may be out of stock, as I receive orders from several places on the internet. We will ship your in-stock items and email you regarding any out of stocks, including when I anticipate the item being back in stock so you can order again. I do not back order out of stock items.
SHORTAGES: We have a double check system in place to virtually eliminate shortages, but mistakes do happen. Please notify me within 3 days of receipt if your order is not complete. Claims for shortages cannot be honored after 7 days of receipt.
SHIPPING: My turnaround time is generally 1-3 business days, 3-5 business days during November and Deccember, Monday-Friday, unless it's a custom mirror. Custom mirrors require a lead time of 3-4 weeks and are not available during November and December.
I ship from Michigan every business weekday, Monday through Friday, using primarily USPS, Fedex Home Delivery or Fedex Ground (for commercial addresses). Commercial (work) addresses do tend to receive their packages up to 2 days faster, so if that works for you it's a great option.
Small packages weighing 16oz or less like shells or garlands ship USPS First Class Mail. Medium packages will ship USPS Priority Mail or Fedex, whichever is less expensive. Larger packages will ship with Fedex.
Many of my pieces are heavy, large, fragile, and/or glass, (or all of the above!)
so shipping fees unfortunately have to reflect that. Shipping fees include necessary protective packaging such as inner and outer protective boxes, bubble wrap, packing peanuts, etc in addition to the actual postage. I do not make a profit on shipping. Also, I re-use clean recycled materials whenever I can:)
IF YOU DID NOT RECEIVE A PACKAGE MARKED AS "DELIVERED":
Please contact your local post office and your postman, they are the most knowledgeable sources for finding your package. Have your post office look up the GPS scan and see where your package was when it was marked as delivered.
Further action may be required, ie: filing a police report for theft, as "Porch Piracy" is on the rise. Package theft is not covered with shipping insurance and we can not replace at our expense if the package is marked delivered to the address that you provided us. Please make sure that you have entered the correct mailing address and keep track of your delivery day from your tracking so you know when its being delivered.
If you didn't receive your item due to an incorrect address that you provided and we received the package back, we will re-ship to a DIFFERENT address but you will need to be responsible for re-shipping cost.
*****SHIPPING TO ALASKA / HAWAII / GUAM / VIRGIN ISLANDS :
Orders shipping to AK, HI, USVI, and GUAM are subject to a surcharge beyond the stated shipping to pay for the additional costs of shipping.
If you are shipping to any of these locations and place an order here, I will contact you if additional postage is due, and send you a PayPal invoice to cover the additional shipping. You can pay via Pay Pal with any credit card, even if you don't have a PayPal account.
INTERNATIONAL: I do not ship internationally at this time. It's nothing personal, just a business decision based on the fragility and weight of my pieces.
TIMELINE: You can count on your order shipping within (1-3) business days (M-F) of being placed. I'll contact you via your email right away if there will be an additional delay processing your order. Occasional vacation shipping delays are noted at the top of my shop pages under "Shop Announcements".
ADDITIONAL INFO: SEA GLASS: I use recycled and manufactured sea glass in my pieces. While I LOVE genuine sea glass, using genuine sea glass in my pieces would be incredibly costly and would increase my prices to an unaffordable level.
INDOORS ONLY, PLEASE: My items are meant to be enjoyed indoors in temperature controlled rooms. Nothing should be used outdoors unless specifically discussed in the items' description. Extremely hot temperatures outside, in between storm doors and entrance doors, and in rooms that are not temperature controlled can cause adhesives used in my products to weaken or soften.
ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS: Just a quick mention that many of the shells I use are by-products of the seafood industry and are eaten in foreign countries. Additionally, shell harvesting provides hundreds of jobs. I don't carry shells that are endangered or threatened. Certain shells become unavailable from time to time and season to season, which prevents their over-harvesting. I also do not sell coral except for small pieces that are harvested dead.
STOCK PHOTOS: My items are almost always created "made to order".
My photos represent an actual piece that has been photographed before it sold, unless the item's description clearly states "YOU WILL RECIEVE THIS EXACT PIECE", "one of a kind" or "original". Care is taken to replicate the photo in detail using the same elements whenever possible. Shell varieties or sea glass shades may differ due to unavailability at the time of your purchase but the overall design of the piece will always be consistent with the photo.
Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation made uniquely for you!
CUSTOM ORDERS: I love to do custom work and look forward to creating something gorgeous just for you:) Custom orders by their very nature are customized to your wishes and are not returnable.
I will work with you beforehand in detail to make sure we are both in agreement with what we are creating for you before I proceed. Once all your questions have been addressed and we are in agreement on all aspects of the design, materials and timeline, in writing, I will require full prepayment.
I require this prepayment in order to "go ahead" and purchase items for your order that I would ordinarily not have in stock and would not be able to sell to someone else.
